I wanted To Be A Barber and I Will Take Ghana Music Global - Tulenkey

I have many talents, but when growing up I wanted to be a Barber. My father nearly killed me for saying that.

Ghana music takes height rapidly thanks to the hard work of both emerging and well established artists working in the music industry. Tulenkey who tags himself "The First Born of Yaa Pono" is one of the artists making waves in the music industry.

On the Drive Time Show hosted by Emmanuel Atsu Tei Conte on Summer Radio Tulenkey spoke about other talents he's got  and what he wanted to be before switching to rap.

On the Drive Time Show, Tulenkey revealed that, he started singing unprofessionally in the Primary school, but he was also good in drawing, a good goalkeeper and most importantly, a full time comedian. But entering into the Senior High Level, most people had all these skills which was better than him. He then realized that rapping was what made him standout in school, so he focused on it.

Speaking about himself, he made mention of him wanting to be a barber when he was little. His father didn't take the matter lightly, he nearly killed him. He began rapping with the stage name "Optimist". Realising how difficult it was for others to pronounce the name, he then changed it to what we all know him as; "Tulenkey".

I will Be The Artist To Take Ghana Music To Global Recognition

We all know that the likes of Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy and many others in Ghana have really worked hard to put their name and brand on the global music market, yet Tulenkey believes that these artists are not really building a legacy. Calling them "Local Champions", Tulenkey said many celebrated artists in Ghana are not recognised when they travel to other countries which means that they are limited, but he is working to build an international brand so that many foreigners will love Ghana music as well as respect our artists. He will also make sure that before he leaves this world, he must leave a legacy that is making the world know that he "Tulenkey" made many follow Ghana music.

Speaking about his music career, he explained how he got inspired to bring his first song "Fuck Boys". He felt that his song will kill his female fun base, to his surprise; he has more female fun base than the guys. Tulenkey promises to make waves in the industry and his funs must watch out for nothing but the best of music 2021.
