Ghanaian Singer Elivava's Father Accused of Witchcraft

Elivava Mensah, a singer and performer sadly share her story of how her father was wrongly accused of witchcraft. The villagers claim the man at his age is a wizard and making life miserable for the youth in the community. These were her sad notes posted on facebook............

I lost my dear father today, during this crucial time of my life.

he died out of misery being deprived and isolated.

***The #Baika #village people #accused my dad of being a #wizard/ practicing #witchcraft.
After all the good he did for them.

***The #NewBaika #village #people also stopped him from buying anything in the village.

They won't let his wife sell to help him either.

***They will #trow #stones onto his #roof at #night to stop him from #sleeping.

***They will #hoot at him when he is #passing.
We had to visit the human right court in Hohoe to report,
That helped a bit.

My #father gave them so much of our #lands to build school, toilet, he supported the #community so much and yet they turned back and did all that to him.

Inshort my family has been very very #supportive of this #community.
The primary school land and the secondary #school land among others was given by my grand #father as well.

***My main reason for moving from #Accra to go and stay in the village to protect and console him and make him feel loved.

***The reason I organized the #homecoming festival to make him proud of his daughter and to #continue #supporting the #community.

The reasons I wanted to continue supporting the #village, I didn't mind about the past what they did and were still doing to him.

I kept telling him let's keep doing good.
He has always been afraid for me telling me not to repeat his mistakes, but this is in our DNA. helping the community.

Later because we needed to survive, I had move to capecoast to make ends meet to keep supporting them.
But life has been so hard these few times.
I couldn't pay his hospital bill as I was called upon few days ago that he was very sick.

***Sadenly my Dad gave up today.

I don't even have the means to travel down to the village now to pay my last respect.

He was my only #ties to that Baika village,
I'm moving on now.
I'm done with you #NewBaikapoeple. (Baika Somanya)
I'm done. I'm done. I'm done.

One day I will tell the full stories of the chapters of my adventurous life.

I'm still grateful and trusting the process
Which ever way.
I'm strong.

Dadda, sleep well. ❤️❤️❤️🙏
