US R&B singer Akon, who has been talking since 2018 about building a new city in Senegal, said at a press conference on Monday that construction work will start next year. He said that the identities of the investors cannot be revealed but that a third of the $6bn (£5bn) funding had been secured. The architect behind the city, Hussein Bakri, said the city's population would eventually reach 300,000. Akon, whose real name is Alioune Badara Thiam, marketed the city directly to African Americans. He explained he had "ran into a lot of African-Americans that didn’t really understand their culture... So I wanted to build a city or a project like this that will give them the motivation to know that there is a home back home," AFP news agency quotes the singer, who was born in the US to Senegalese parents, as saying. A French woman has been arrested in India for making a video of herself naked on a sacred bridge in the northern city of Rishikesh. The video, shot on the Lakshman Jhula bridge, was posted on social media. The woman faces charges under India's internet law, and could be sentenced to up to three years in prison if found guilty, AFP news agency reports. The suspension bridge over the Ganges river is a holy site and a popular spot for tourists. The woman, who has since been released on bail, told police the video was made to promote her jewellery business. "Maybe in France these things are not considered objectionable. But Rishikesh is a holy place and the Lakshman Jhula is the place where [Hindu gods] Ram, his brother Lakshman and wife Sita crossed the Ganges," RK Saklani, head of the police station where the woman was taken, told AFP. A sheep sold for a record 350,000 guineas -- or around $490,000 in American money -- at an auction in Scotland this week. The lamb, named Double Diamond, had generated buzz before the Scottish National Texel sale in Lanark started, according to a  news release from the Texel Sheep Society.  Bidding started at 10000 guineas (about but $13,000). A bidding war drove up the price until an agreement was reached for the sheep to be shared between three farms. "It's just like every other business -- horse racing or the cattle business," Jeff Aiken, one of the winning bidders, told  The Guardian . "Every once in a while something special comes along and yesterday an extra special Texel turned up. Everyone wanted a piece of it." Texel sheep originated in Holland and are a butcher favorite, according to the Texel Sheep Society.   US actor Chadwick Boseman, best known for playing Black Panther in the hit Marvel superhero franchise, has died of cancer aged 43. He died at home in Los Angeles with his wife and family by his side, a statement posted on social media said. Boseman was diagnosed with colon cancer four years ago but had not made the information public. The news has left fans and the film world stunned.
